Comm-Works values giving back to the communities in which they do business and encourages employees to do the same. This December Comm-Works’ employees exemplified these values and dedication to their social partnerships by volunteering time and making donations for the benefit three charitable organizations: The Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, Hats & Mittens, and Feed My Starving Children.

Minneapolis Crisis Nursery Bake Sale & Holiday Drive

The Minneapolis Crisis Nursery helps to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing their free voluntary services and support to families in crisis.

This season the nursery was in need of holiday donations. To help out, Comm-Works hosted an in-house bake sale and holiday drive where employees auctioned off their favorite baked goods and brought generous donations of toys, kitchen supplies, winter accessories, and more.

The bake sale generated 435 dollars which was used to purchase 50 new toys and holiday items for the nursery. In addition, employees filled over 5 boxes with donated items. Comm-Works’ employees will also be volunteering their time to help distribute holiday gifts to families in need; Learn more about the Minneapolis Crisis Nursery and how you can get involved.

Hats & Mittens

Hats & Mittens is an all-volunteer organization with the goal of ensuring that the children of our community have access to warm hats and mittens during the cold winter months. Over 450,000 hats and mittens have been collected and distributed over the past sixteen years. This year, Comm-Works contributed by collecting 66 hats, 23 pairs of mittens, and 15 scarfs. Learn how you can help Hats & Mittens reach their goal of collecting 50,000 warm hats and mittens by the end of 2016.

Feed My Starving Children

A team of 40 Comm-Works’ employees volunteered in the middle of the workday for Feed My Starving Children to help pack 275 boxes of food. This generated over 59,400 meals, and will feed 163 children for an entire year!

“This event was not only fun, but a great team building exercise!” states Comm-Works’ Executive Administrative Assistant, Jennifer Scott. Learn more about the great volunteer opportunities offered at Feed My Starving Children.

CEO Al Lampe states, “Comm-Works is committed to making volunteering as accessible as possible for all employees.” Thanks to Comm-Works’ time and efforts, many families can have a happy holiday this year.
